about us

When we begin to age, and our bodies don't respond the way they once did, society doesn't have much patience with us.  When we move a little slower, or think a little slower, or eat a little slower, people get annoyed at these "old people".  But we can't help it, we didn't choose it, and aging is just our reality.

Hallmark is a place where age doesn't matter, and if you need a bit of a helping hand for a few things, we think that's just fine.  We think that scooters and walkers are nice handy tools.  We can laugh about how many doctor's appointments we've been at this week.  If we forget someone's name, we just ask again, and carry on, because that's all right.  You don't have to pretend to be young, because we can be proud to be elders.  We know a few things, and we've been through a lot to get here.  We're survivors, and proud of it.

We also know that it doesn't matter how pretty a place is.  We often tell newcomers that anyone can build a nice building, but what happens inside is the real gift, and that's the responsibility of each person in our community.

If you're feeling like you still have a spark and an eagerness to contribute yourself to our community, we'll welcome you.  Laughter, hugs, and a listening ear are always here.  Welcome home.

(And a promise from us: you won't find any fake stock photos of models on our website.  All our photos are of real residents, not of people pretending to be seniors.)
